Quidi Vidi Inn shows some of the characteristics of a traditional saltbox house in Newfoundland. The 6-ft ceiling on the main floor will stand out the most, which was common in the old days to make heating the house easier and faster. People were also shorter back then due to poor or limited nutrition.
Come stay in our little house in the “gut” and do some walking. The historic fishing village of Quidi Vidi will take your breath away.

Quidi Vidi Village is a small, picturesque community located in a sheltered harbor known as Quidi Vidi Gut. Due to its proximity to Signal Hill and to the City of St. John’s, Quidi Vidi Village played important roles in both the military and economic history of the region.
Today, the village lies within the City of St. John’s municipal boundary. And while some new developments have occurred, the essence of this out port community is still intact. It remains a small village wrapped around a sheltered Harbour with the houses crouched against the rocky hills.
The St. Johns International Airport is a 10-minute taxi ride. Downtown St. John's is about a 5-minute taxi ride.
The best way to get around the village is to walk. Over the years, the village has become a very big tourist attraction. Our little home is perfectly located for walking about.
